Biography

Jennifer Renée Green is a New York and Philadelphia-based artist who was born and raised in Southeast Texas. Her research-based practice engages expanded photography, sculpture, and performance. Green's work is structured around queer subjectivity, focusing on questions of opacity, histories, politics, and representation. She deploys methods of abstraction and minimalism to take autobiographical narratives into account, investigating relational dynamics, processes, and the intersections of queer theory and artistic practice. She received her BFA in Photography from the California Institute of the Arts and her MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Green is a founder and current member of PSLA, an artist collective based in Los Angeles.
