Biography

Jennifer Herren is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior and a clinician educator. She serves as a staff psychologist and the Associate Director of the Pediatric Anxiety Research Center (PARC) at Bradley Hospital, where she leads outpatient services and supports the operations of PARC programs. Herren received her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Judge Baker Children’s Center, Harvard University. Her research interests primarily focus on the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practices for youth, particularly concerning exposure-based treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety. She has extensive experience in conducting intervention studies and collaborating with community organizations to utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). As a strong advocate for increasing equitable access to exposure-based therapy for young people, Herren contributed to the development of a new outpatient service line at PARC, employing a team-based intervention model to enhance care accessibility. She specializes in therapist training and consultation in exposure-based CBT and has been involved in multiple training initiatives over the past 15 years. Additionally, she is the primary supervisor at PARC’s outpatient training clinic.
