Biography

Jennifer Hill is the inaugural Bob Baxt AO Professor of Corporate Commercial Law at Monash University and the Director of the Centre for Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies (CLARS). She is an internationally recognized legal scholar specializing in comparative corporate law and governance. Her recent research has focused on corporate governance issues, corporate accountability, global shareholder stewardship activism, directors’ duties, and executive compensation across transnational legal orders. Jennifer's work is widely cited in academic literature throughout Australia, the United States, Europe, and Asia. She is a graduate of the University of Sydney (BA LLB (Hons)) and the University of Oxford (BCL). Jennifer has held visiting teaching and research positions at numerous prestigious institutions, including the University of Cambridge, Cornell University, Duke University, NYU Law School, and the University of Virginia. Her contributions to the field have been recognized through various professional honors, including her past and current roles with the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI). Additionally, she is a Life Member of Clare Hall at the University of Cambridge and has received multiple awards for her contributions to corporate law education and research.
