Dr. Jennifer Lawson

Biography

Jennifer Mah Lawson is a physician and clinical faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics at Duke University. Her primary care services are complemented by a strong interest in medical humanities, climate change health, integrative medicine, and transdisciplinary collaboration, particularly focused on underserved communities. She is a member of the inaugural group of Climate Change Faculty Fellows as of 2022. Lawson has a Master of Arts from Duke University obtained in 2017 and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Vermont, earned in 1990. She has also held positions as a Faculty Associate at the Trent Center for Bioethics, Humanities, and History in Medicine, where she contributed to academic discourse on the intersection of humanistic studies and medical practice. She was awarded a grant for the Bull City Bites and Books initiative by the American Academy of Pediatrics, showcasing her commitment to community engagement and education. Lawson's contributions to her field reflect a dedication to the welfare of both her patients and broader societal health issues.
