Biography

Dr. Lynes's research focuses on intersection sustainability marketing, with particular emphasis on how organizations communicate information regarding sustainability. She holds an advisory position in the Privy Council’s Program for Applied Research Climate Action (PARCA) and serves as a sustainability consultant for Tennis Canada. With decades of demonstrated leadership in sustainability research, teaching, and long-standing support for community initiatives, Dr. Lynes has been a chair and board member for REEP Green Solutions for ten years and has six years of experience as the director of Canada’s leading program in Environment and Business. Additionally, she has been the co-director of Canada’s undergraduate program in Sustainability & Financial Management. Dr. Lynes is also a founding member of the Sustainable Concerts Working Group, engaging with the live music industry on projects, such as collaborating with musician Jack Johnson for the 'greenest green' initiative for Guelph’s Hillside Festival. Her work has notably focused on sustainability within the sports sector, partnering with Tennis Canada to develop and implement strategies for achieving their 2030 sustainability goals. Her areas of interest include electric vehicles, demand-side energy, commercial air travel, fashion, cosmetics, tourism, hospitality, and events. Dr. Lynes's research has been featured in various media, including Nature Energy and CBC’s Current.
