Biography

Jennifer J. McGrath is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Concordia University, where she holds the Chair in Childhood Preventive Health Data Science at the PERFORM Centre. She is a FRQS Senior Research Scholar and a Principal Member of the Centre for Clinical Research in Health (CCRH). McGrath has expertise in pediatric cardiovascular behavioral medicine, with a particular focus on the progression of cardiovascular disease risk factors throughout the developmental spectrum. McGrath investigates the pathogenesis of subclinical disease markers, including cardiovascular reactivity and metabolic functioning, as well as the influence of behavioral, environmental, and psychological mechanisms on these markers, which may confer susceptibility to cardiovascular disease. Her work is foundational in understanding how early-life factors contribute to long-term health outcomes in children and adolescents.
