Biography

Jennifer O’Neil is an Assistant Professor in the Physiotherapy program at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Health Sciences. Her research program focuses on improving access to effective rehabilitation interventions and innovative service delivery methods. Utilizing technology, her doctoral thesis examined the implementation of intensive home-based telerehabilitation programs for individuals living with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury. Additionally, she investigated the implementation of a telehealth fall prevention program aimed at Francophone communities living in minority situations in Canada. With a global health perspective, Professor O’Neil employs participatory approaches and mixed methodologies, striving to enhance health equity and access to rehabilitation services on a global scale. She is also involved in international participatory research planning projects in Uganda, exploring the use of telerehabilitation for individuals living with neurological conditions. Professor O’Neil is open to inquiries regarding PhD and postdoctoral position opportunities and thesis supervision.
