Biography

Dr. Jennifer Payne is an Associate Professor and Associate Head - Research in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at Dalhousie University. She holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Toronto and an MSc in Community Health & Epidemiology from Queen’s University. Her educational background is complemented by a BSc in Chemistry, also from Queen’s University. Jennifer began her career focusing on work-related health, particularly in the realm of chronic disease and cancer screening surveillance. Currently, she divides her time between Dalhousie University and the Nova Scotia Breast Screening Program, where she contributes to the development of surveillance policy initiatives. Her research interests span population health, health services research, and breast imaging, with a particular emphasis on the utilization of large databases to enhance health outcomes. As the Associate Head of Research, Dr. Payne oversees research education for residents and fellows and provides support to researchers within the department.
