Dr. Jennifer Pien

Biography

Jennifer H. Pien is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Stanford University, where she also holds the position of Director of Pegasus Physician Writers and has been a founding faculty editor for the Oxford Review Books collaboration with Stanford. Her academic work emphasizes the intersection of literature and medicine, particularly through her role on the Advisory Board for the Bellevue Literary Press and her involvement in the Stanford School of Medicine Medical Humanities Fellowship. Pien's forthcoming publication, 'Healing Healers', is anticipated to launch in 2025 with Johns Hopkins University Press. She has co-founded the Hesperides Literary Agency and actively works on advocacy for adults with developmental disabilities, including co-founding the Puente Clinic within the San Mateo County Medical System, dedicated to innovative developmentally disabled care. Pien is at the forefront of physician well-being initiatives with her involvement in the WellConnect team. She contributes to numerous committees, including the Regional Advisory Committee for the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities. Her distinguished educational background includes a Psychiatry residency at Stanford University and a medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
