Biography

Professor Jennifer Strawbridge is a specialist in New Testament and Early Christian Studies at the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Oxford. She is a G.B. Caird Fellow at Mansfield College and serves as the Director of Graduate Studies. Strawbridge has published and edited numerous works, including 'The Pauline Effect: Use of the Pauline Epistles by Early Christian Writers' and 'Letter of Peter: Global Commentary.' She is currently engaged in writing a monograph on sightlessness in the New Testament and the ancient world, collaborating on topics intersecting sensory studies, reception history, disability studies, and theology. Strawbridge received the Highly Commended 2024 Vice Chancellor’s Award for Inclusive Teaching and Assessment. Beyond her teaching and research, she actively contributes to various theological and academic bodies, including serving as a Canon Theologian in the Diocese of Blackburn and as a member of the Anglican Communion Science Commission. She teaches courses on Pauline Literature and Contemporary Theological Approaches to the New Testament.
