Biography

Jennifer Sutton is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Western University. She joined the university in May 2024 after spending 17 years at Brescia University College, where she held the position of Associate Professor and eventually Provost. Dr. Sutton holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky, as well as a Master's degree and PhD from Western University, with her research primarily focusing on animal cognition. After completing her doctoral studies, she undertook a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto. Her current research addresses the mechanisms underlying spatial cognition in adults and has included investigations involving children and various non-human species. Her research is supported by funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) as well as internal grants from Brescia and Western. In addition to her research activities, Dr. Sutton has taught courses in cognitive psychology, research methods, and statistics.
