Biography

Jennifer H. White is a Professor in the School of Child and Youth Care at the University of Victoria. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Victoria, a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, and an EdD in Educational Leadership from the University of British Columbia (UBC). Prior to joining the University of Victoria in 2004, she worked as a clinical counselor in a community mental health setting and a youth suicide prevention educator. She has also served as the Director of the Suicide Prevention Information Resource Centre at the Mental Health Evaluation Community Consultation Unit within UBC's Department of Psychiatry. Her research interests include youth suicide prevention, ethics, collaborative research, narrative practices, and professional development in the context of child and youth care. White has published numerous articles in journals such as Social Sciences and the Journal of Constructivist Psychology, covering topics related to the ethics of professionalism and the experiences of counselors working with suicidal youth.
