Biography

Jennifer Clare Woods is an Associate Professor in the Department of Classical Studies at Duke University, where she has been a faculty member since 2007. Her scholarly interests are deeply rooted in the study of Late Medieval Latin Literature, early medieval homiletics, and monastic culture. She specializes in Latin manuscripts paleography and the history of books, focusing on the Classical Tradition and post-classical experiences in Rome, Italy, while also examining pre-modern new media. In addition to her research, she takes on leadership roles, including her current position as Chair of the Department of Classical Studies, which she began in 2024.
