Professor Dr. Jenny Collier

Biography

Professor Jenny Collier is a marine geophysicist at Imperial College London, specializing in marine methods that involve conducting sea expeditions to collect data through controlled source reflection refraction seismology, sidescan sonar, and multibeam bathymetry. Her research focuses on the investigation of various geological phenomena including mantle plumes, continental breakup, and the significant volumes of magmatism that these processes entail. Collier's work also addresses the geological features and historical patterns in volcanic continental margins. She has collaborated with international partners on seismic interpretation and numerical modeling to explore the dynamics of subduction zones and their relationship to the deep Earth.
