Biography

Jenny Jakobsson is a guest researcher at the Athletics Research Center at Linköping University, specializing in practice-based sports research. Her work focuses on creating models aimed at improving sustainability in sports and health for participants. She has conducted research on the mechanisms of injury in individual sports, with a primary focus on track and field. Her research interests extend to child and youth athletes as well as elite adults. Jakobsson is a certified physical therapist, having graduated in 1992 from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, and obtained her Doctor of Medicine (PhD) from Linköping University in 2012. She has furthered her research through postdoctoral studies at Linköping University from 2016 to 2019. Jakobsson is also a member of the World Athletics research group on health in athletics and has served as a medical coordinator for the Swedish Athletics Association.
