Dr. Jenny Mander

Biography

Professor Jenny Mander specializes in eighteenth-century French thought and literature, focusing on modern critical theory, particularly theories of reading and narratology. She is the author of works on narrative, including a study of the first-person narrative in the early eighteenth-century French novel, and has contributed to the field through her research on colonialism during this period. Mander has been involved in organizing significant academic events, such as the international conference on Raynal's 'Histoire philosophique des deux Indes', which took place at Newnham College in July 2010. She actively encourages inquiries from prospective MPhil and PhD students whose research interests align with her expertise.
