Biography

Jenny Mindell is an Emeritus Professor of Public Health at University College London with a rich background in epidemiological research, teaching, and health promotion. She led the UCL team managing the Health Survey England until June 2022 and has extensive experience working across Europe and Latin America to compare health examination survey findings for policymakers. Her primary research interests focus on policies affecting health inequalities, particularly in the domains of transportation and health, tobacco control, and health impact assessments (HIAs). Mindell is a principal investigator on significant cross-research council grants aimed at developing tools to measure community severance at various levels. She has co-organized seven International Conferences on Transport and Health and serves as the Co-chair of the Transport Health Science Group. Additionally, she was the founding Editor-in-Chief of the award-winning Journal of Transport and Health. Mindell has held various academic positions, including a visiting professorship at the University of Otago in New Zealand.
