Biography

Jens Dammann is the Ben H. Kitty King Powell Chair in Business Commercial Law at Texas Law. His primary research areas encompass empirical legal studies, corporate law, contract law, European Union law, and comparative law, with a focus on U.S. law and extensive publications in European Union and German law. His work is frequently cited by the Federal Court Justice (Bundesgerichtshof), Germany's highest civil matters court. Professor Dammann has published numerous books and articles in leading law reviews and has taught at prestigious institutions including the University of Chicago Law School, Cornell Law School, Bucerius Law School, Fundação Getulio Vargas, and Leibniz Institute Financial Research SAFE. He is also a Research Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) and will serve as a Global Visiting Professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) starting in July 2024.
