Biography

Jens Hanssen is a professor specializing in Arab Civilization and Middle Eastern Mediterranean history. Hanssen is also writing a book on the fast-paced developments in the Middle East during the 19th century and has received funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council for research on German-Jewish influences on 20th-century Arab thought.
