Biography

Jensy Stafford is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Brown University, specializing as a Clinician Educator. She is the Program Director for the Brown Hospice Palliative Medicine fellowship program and co-director of the Arts Ethics Palliative Care course. Stafford received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a minor in Religion from Temple University and earned her medical degree in 2008. She completed her residency in family medicine at Brown University and then pursued a fellowship in hospice palliative medicine at Harvard University. Since joining the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at HopeHealth in 2012, she has served as the associate program director for the Hospice Palliative Medicine program from 2013 to 2022, before taking on the role of fellowship director in 2022. In 2018, she developed the Arts Ethics Palliative Care course for HPM fellows, demonstrating her commitment to innovative curriculum development. In addition to teaching and mentoring fellows, she works primarily in an inpatient hospice setting and has experience as an inpatient and outpatient palliative care consultant. Her research interests include curriculum development, medical humanities, and bioethics, with a particular focus on teaching communication and observation skills.
