Dr. Jeremy Fix

Biography

Jeremy David Fix is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Keble College, University of Oxford, specializing in Ethics and Moral Psychology. He is also an Official Fellow Tutor in Philosophy at the same college, having joined its faculty in 2016. Fix completed his PhD at Harvard University and has a strong academic background, holding degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Colgate University. He has published extensively in the field, with works addressing Kant's philosophy and various aspects of practical reason, moral philosophy, and ethical action. His notable publications include articles in renowned journals such as the European Journal of Philosophy and the Journal of the American Philosophical Association. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he organizes the Moral Philosophy Seminar, a colloquium series that meets bi-weekly during the term, in which he fosters engagement among graduate students in the field. Fix's research interests intersect at key areas of practical philosophy, particularly concerning ethics, metaethics, agency, and the writings of Kant.
