Biography

Jeremy Holt is a nuclear theorist with a focus on physics of hot dense matter, core-collapse supernovae, neutron stars, and compact object mergers. He received his PhD in Physics from Stony Brook University in 2008 under the supervision of Gerald E. Brown. Since joining the Physics and Astronomy department at Texas A&M University in 2016, he has conducted postdoctoral research at the Technical University of Munich and the University of Washington. Professor Holt's research examines the nuclear microphysics of high-energy astrophysical phenomena and the low-energy realization of quantum chromodynamics through chiral effective field theory.
