Dr. Jeremy Kratz

Biography

Jeremy Kratz is an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, specializing in hematology, medical oncology, and palliative care. As a physician-scientist, he leads targeted therapeutics in early phase clinical trials and co-chairs the UW Precision Medicine Molecular Tumor Board. His laboratory focuses on hepatobiliary pancreatic cancer, utilizing organotypic models and patient-derived tissues. Dr. Kratz's research interests include improving the accuracy of organoid modeling and understanding mechanisms of adaptive resistance mediated by key transcriptional effectors. His work involves developing platform technologies for next-generation sequencing and generating patient-derived models, including organoids and xenografts. Additionally, he participates in the Veterans Health Association's early career development program and leads gastrointestinal oncology within VA's National Precision Oncology Program, contributing to the National Gastroenterology Hepatology Program's Liver Disease Field Advisory Board.
