Biography

Jeroen Derwall is an Associate Professor of Finance at Utrecht University School of Economics, a position he has held since November 2020. He also holds a position at Maastricht University. His research is primarily focused on sustainable finance, shareholder activism, mutual funds, and performance analysis, with his work published in international peer-reviewed journals such as Management Science, Journal of Banking & Finance, and Financial Analysts Journal. In terms of teaching, Derwall has extensive experience in developing Master's programs and courses in (Sustainable) Finance, as well as courses on academic research skills. He has co-developed and taught professional, postgraduate, MBA, and executive courses for several institutions, including the Amsterdam Institute of Finance, the Dutch Financial Analysts Association, Duisenberg School of Finance, and TIAS Business School. He was awarded the title of "Excellent Graduate Educator" in 2015 from both Maastricht University and Tilburg University. Additionally, he serves as an Academic Review Board Member for PGGM's Systematic Equities program.
