Dr. Jeroen Van Raak

Biography

J.J.F. van Raak is an Assistant Professor at the Amsterdam Business School, University of Amsterdam, specializing in Accounting. He has a Ph.D. from Maastricht University earned in 2011 and an MSc. in Business Economics with Cum Laude honors from Tilburg University in 2004. His research interests include auditing quality, internal control measures, and the dynamics of the accounting profession. Over the years, he has authored and co-authored several significant publications that examine the complexities of audit market structures and their implications on audit quality and pricing. He has taught various courses, such as Auditing and Business Lab & Professional Skills, contributing to both student learning and academic dialogue in his field. Before joining the University of Amsterdam in 2011, he held positions at Utrecht University and Kozminski University, gaining extensive experience in academia and research within the field of accountancy.
