Biography

Jérôme Genest is a full professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering at Université Laval. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal in 2007, after completing his M.Sc.A in 2004 and B.Ing in 2002 at the same institution. He has also held a postdoctoral position at the Iyengar Lab & Systems Biology Center, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, from 2007 to 2011. His research focuses on various domains within optical instrumentation, including optical signal processing, nonlinear optics, and optical spectroscopy. Genest has received several teaching awards from the Faculty of Science and Engineering, recognizing his contributions to education in 2003 and from 2008 to 2022. He actively participates in graduate recruitment.
