In 2007, Prof. Andersen joined the National Cancer Institute as a postdoctoral fellow. In 2014, he moved to the Biotech Research Innovation Centre (BRIC), Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, where he started his own group focusing on biomedical translational research in primary liver and bile duct cancers. He was tenured in 2019 and appointed full Professor of Translational Hepatology in 2023. Prof. Andersen has authored or co-authored more than 150 seminal papers and book chapters and has been awarded multiple prestigious awards and fellowships for his contributions to cancer research.
