Biography

Jessaca Leinaweaver conducts research in cultural anthropology and anthropological demography, focusing on Peru and the Peruvian diaspora. In her subsequent publication, 'Adoptive Migration: Raising Latinos in Spain' (Duke, 2013), she explores the unexpected similarities between international migration and adoption, providing insights into the experiences of transracial adoptees in diverse societies with significant immigrant populations. Her field research has been supported by notable organizations including the Wenner-Gren Foundation, the National Science Foundation, the Fulbright International Institute of Education, and the Jacob K. Javits Fellowship program, along with the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
