Jessica works at the intersection of law, technology, and health. Her research addresses legal governance issues arising from health biomedical research and analyzes legal structures and models of governance in this context. Using doctrinal and socio-legal methods, she has examined the ethical, legal, and social implications of various emerging health technologies, including large-scale research infrastructures such as biobanks and data-sharing networks, 3D bio-printing, stem cell research, gene editing, and DIY artificial pancreas systems. She has been a part of Warwick Law School since January 2021 and previously served as a Research Fellow at the HeLEX Centre for Health Law and Emerging Technologies at the University of Oxford. Jessica earned her PhD from the University of Sheffield, focusing on the UK Biobank Ltd, and holds an MA in Biotechnology, Law, and Ethics, as well as an LLB (Hons) from the same institution. She has also been a Visiting Researcher at the Brocher Foundation in Geneva, the Centre for Science, Technology, and Medicine in Society at UC Berkeley, and the Centre of Genomics and Policy at McGill University in Montreal.
