Dr. Jessica Burjorjee

Biography

Dr. Jessica Burjorjee is an Assistant Professor at Queen's University in the Department of Anesthesiology. She serves as the Director of the Anesthesiology Simulation Program and leads the Obstetrical Anesthesiology Team. Dr. Burjorjee completed her medical education at Queen's University and underwent postgraduate training in Anesthesia. She has additional training in Medical Education Simulation Fellowship from the University of Toronto. Her clinical interests include Obstetrical Anesthesia and Regional Anesthesia, particularly in the context of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS). In terms of academic interests, she focuses on Crisis Resource Management, Medical Education Simulation, and Patient Safety. Dr. Burjorjee has held several important positions, including being the Canadian National Anesthesiology Simulation Committee Lead and serving on various departmental committees related to postgraduate medical education and competency-based medical education. She is dedicated to improving standards in anesthesiology training and simulation, ensuring the safety and efficacy of anesthetic practices in obstetrics and beyond.
