Biography

Jessica Feldman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Stanford University. Her research interests focus on the mechanisms underlying cell patterning during multicellular development, particularly the organization of microtubules, which is a key aspect of tissue differentiation in organisms. She utilizes genetic, biochemical, and live imaging approaches to study cell biological questions in living, developing organisms, specifically using the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans). Feldman's academic training includes a Ph.D. from the University of California, San Francisco, where she researched the genetic regulation of centrosome structure and its role in cellular organization. Her postdoctoral training at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center furthered her work on centrosomes and epithelial polarization. In 2014, she started her lab at Stanford with the goal of creating a fun, supportive, and inclusive research environment.
