Biography

Jessica Ford is a Ph.D. Candidate in the department of Classics and Religious Studies at the University of Ottawa. She is currently a contract instructor in the College of Humanities at Carleton University, where she teaches courses on Hinduism, including RELI2510A, and also teaches Religions of the World II at the University of Ottawa. Her doctoral research explores the expression and transmission of Hinduism within the Canadian context, particularly through an ethnographical account of the Chinmaya Mission, a worldwide Hindu religious and spiritual organization. Her wider research interests encompass Hinduism, diaspora studies, Hindu epics and mythology, South Asian traditions, and the intersection of religion with comic books and graphic novels.
