Biography

Jessica Klüger is a PhD Candidate in Migration Law at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Born and raised in Brazil, she developed a strong commitment to social and legal justice from a young age, influenced by the inequalities in her home country. Her research focuses on litigation involving governments at the European Court of Human Rights, particularly regarding articles designed to protect migrants from expulsion. She aims to understand how governments shape jurisprudence according to their own interests, addressing critical issues in migration law. Klüger also participates actively in various research projects, including a DFG project on the intersection of migrants and states in the European Court of Human Rights, showcasing her commitment to advancing knowledge and reform in migration policies.
