Biography

Jessica Papillon Smith received her Medical degree in 2011 and completed her Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency training in 2016 at McGill University. She then completed a two-year fellowship in Advanced Gynecologic Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, where she developed expertise in minimally invasive gynecology. In addition to her clinical work, she obtained a Master of Education in the Health Professions and a certification in educational research from Johns Hopkins University. In October 2018, she was recruited by the McGill Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology to work as a clinical associate at the Royal Victoria Hospital, where she is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. Dr. Papillon Smith has a broad scope practice with a special interest in the minimally invasive treatment of complex and unusual gynecologic pathologies. She dedicates a significant portion of her time to providing gynecologic services to the Inuit population in Northern Quebec, ensuring adequate access to care during her monthly visits to the Nunavik region. She is the Quebec Gynecologic Clinical Practice Representative for the SOGC and an active member of the CanSAGE association, with ongoing involvement in clinical research activities.
