Professor of Paediatric Infectious Diseases at Imperial College London, Dr. Jethro Herberg holds honorary consultant positions at St Mary’s Hospital (Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust) and Royal Brompton Hospital. The study currently runs a clinical observational phase, recruiting patients across Europe to assess the accuracy of using host-transcript tests in diagnosis. Dr. Herberg collaborates with colleagues in the Faculty of Electronic and Electrical Engineering to explore technologies for quantifying host transcripts in blood. He is also involved in genetics research relating to severe infections in children and leads significant clinical studies.
