Biography

Jette Ammentorp is a professor and research leader at the Center for Patient Communication at Odense University Hospital and the Clinical Institute of the University of Southern Denmark. She has initiated several research projects aimed at improving communication between healthcare professionals and patients, including the communication program 'Clear Talk with Patients' implemented across all hospitals in the Region of Southern Denmark. Active in several international networks, such as the Oslo Communication Healthcare Education Research group (OCHER) and the International Association for Communication in Healthcare (EACH), Jette has served since 2017 as an honorary professor at Deakin University, Australia. She was also a founding member and served as president of the Danish Society for Communication in Healthcare until 2020. Jette has authored the book 'The Good Patient Conversation,' with an updated version released in 2023, and has published over 100 scientific articles on patient experiences, involvement, and communication. Her work has contributed significantly to understanding and improving patient-provider interactions in healthcare settings.
