Biography

Ji-Seon Kim joined the Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford in 2025 as a Professor of Electronic Materials, part of the Sustainable Chemistry Materials Initiative. He was previously a Professor of Solid State Physics at Imperial College London and served as Director of the EPSRC Plastic Electronics Centre and Doctoral Training Director for the MRes in Soft Electronic Materials. His research primarily focuses on sustainable molecular semiconductors and the development of new classes of electronic materials, addressing scientific questions related to novel optoelectronic devices, including solar cells and biosensors. His collaborative efforts extend to industrial partners such as Samsung Electronics and Oninn, contributing to impactful research projects in clean energy generation and healthcare applications.
