Biography

Ji Koung Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at the Broad College of Business, Michigan State University. He received his Ph.D. in Management from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, as well as both his Master's and Bachelor's degrees from Korea University. Prior to joining MSU, Ji was an Assistant Professor at the Mays Business School of Texas A&M University. His research interests consist of several distinct but interrelated areas. A central aspect of his research investigates how employees interact with organizational audiences to craft and manage reputation, and the implications these interactions have on employee well-being, performance, and career success. Additionally, his research stream examines how employees can cultivate positive workplace relationships and the conditions that lead to effective relationship-building, as well as the evolving nature of these relationships. Ji also studies the impact of contemporary work arrangements, like remote and hybrid work, as well as gig work, on the way work is conducted within organizations, focusing on how employees proactively navigate these changes to improve their work lives. His work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Applied Psychology and Personnel Psychology.
