Dr. Ji Zhu

Biography

Ji Zhu is the Susan Murphy Collegiate Professor and Chair of the Department of Statistics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He specializes in statistical machine learning, network analysis, and statistical modeling in health science. With his doctorate in Statistics from Stanford University, his research has significantly impacted the field of statistical learning. Zhu has received several prestigious accolades, including the IMS Medallion Lecturer in 2027 and the Rackham Distinguished Graduate Mentor Award in 2025. Notably, he was the Grand Prize Winner of the COVID-19 Data Challenge by the American Heart Association in 2020.
