Biography

Jia Li is an Associate Professor of Biological Chemistry at Imperial College London. She is the Co-Lead of the Nutrition Section within the Department of Metabolism, Digestion, and Reproduction. Dr. Li has significantly contributed to the Imperial NIHR Biomedical Research Centre's Gut Health Theme from 2018 to 2022 and served as the Deputy Director of the Imperial International Phenome Training Centre from 2013 to 2020. She earned her BSc in Chemistry from Nankai University in China and her PhD in Biochemistry from the University of London in 2009. Dr. Li has been the recipient of several prestigious fellowships, including the Imperial College Research Fellowship and the European Research Council Starting Grant. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a member of both the Biochemical Society and the Metabolomics Society. Furthermore, she has received notable awards such as the Elsie Widdowson Fellowship, recognizing her impact in the field. In addition to her research interests, Dr. Li is actively involved in mentoring and promoting microbiome education at various academic levels.
