Dr. Jian Xun Wang

Biography

Jian-Xun Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University. His research interests are primarily in Scientific Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Data Assimilation, and Computational Physics. He focuses on developing methods that incorporate physics and machine learning approaches to improve modeling and simulations in fluid mechanics. Wang has published numerous articles in prominent journals discussing topics such as physics-informed machine learning, surrogate modeling of fluid flows, and strategies for reducing model-form uncertainties. He has contributed extensively to different aspects of turbulence modeling and has developed techniques that integrate deep learning and computational physics to tackle complex fluid dynamics problems. His innovative approaches aim to bridge theoretical frameworks with practical applications, enhancing predictive capabilities in engineering problems involving fluid dynamics.
