Biography

Jian Chen is a Distinguished Global Network Professor of History at NYU Shanghai and the Director of the NYU Shanghai-ECNU Center for Global History, Economy, and Culture. With a focus on modern Chinese history and the history of Chinese-American relations, Chen has published several influential works including 'China's Road to the Korean War,' and 'Mao's China and the Cold War.' Prior to his role at NYU Shanghai, he served as the Michael J.
