Biography

Jiangning Wu is a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University. He completed his PhD at the University of Windsor in 1992, following an MSc from Nanjing University of Technology in 1985 and a BSc in 1982. Raised during China’s Cultural Revolution, Wu faced significant barriers to education but ultimately pursued his dream of studying chemical engineering. His research focuses on advanced oxidation technologies in wastewater treatment and polymer surface modification, as well as renewable energy solutions. He is committed to teaching and believes in the importance of training students to address global environmental challenges collaboratively. Wu has made significant contributions to ozone technology for wastewater treatment and is involved with the editorial board of the Journal of Chemical Process Engineering.
