Biography

Dr. Jiankang (Adam) Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Resource Engineering at Dalhousie University. His research utilizes numerical simulations, laboratory experiments, and field experiments to build a fundamental understanding of fluid mechanics in relation to environmental concerns. He is broadly interested in fluid mechanics, marine carbon dioxide removal, mixing and transport of passive and active tracers in stratified flows, fundamental convective shear instabilities, and particle settling and dissolution processes. Dr. Yang seeks to build sustainable water environments to tackle climate change challenges. He is looking for self-motivated undergraduate, master's, and PhD students to begin projects in September or January, preferably candidates with a background in engineering, mathematics, physics, geosciences, or related disciplines and who have excellent academic credentials.
