Biography

Jianli Gao is a Research Associate in the Control Power (CAP) Research Group at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Imperial College London. His work focuses on projects funded by the National Grid ESO, specifically in the areas of modeling, stability analysis, and control of future power grids that are dominated by renewable energy sources. He is also affiliated with the Electric Power Innovation Carbon-free Society (EPICS) Center and the KIOS Research Innovation Center of Excellence. Jianli obtained his PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London, completing his thesis titled 'A Lyapunov-Based Approach to Power Systems Stability Control' under the supervision of Dr. Balarko Chaudhuri and Professor Alessandro Astolfi. He holds an M.Sc. in Control Systems and a B.Eng. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London and the University of Manchester, respectively.
