Biography

Jiaqi Ma is an assistant professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign School of Information Sciences. His research focuses on trustworthy machine learning, graph machine learning, and recommender systems. His work has resulted in over 20 publications in top AI conferences and journals, such as ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, KDD, AISTATS, JMLR, and TMLR. He is a leading organizer of workshops including Regulatable ML at NeurIPS and Graph Learning Benchmarks at KDD. His research in recommender systems has been utilized in production systems of several large technology companies, including Google and Alibaba. Prior to joining the University of Illinois, Ma earned his PhD from the University of Michigan and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard University.
