Biography

Jiayin Pang obtained her PhD from the University of Tasmania and is a Senior Research Fellow at The University of Western Australia, specializing in crop physiology and plant nutrition. Her research focuses on enhancing phosphorus and nitrogen use efficiency in plants and understanding plant responses to abiotic stresses, including drought, soil acidity, waterlogging, and salinity in various cereal and grain legume species. Jiayin co-leads the Australian Research Council Linkage project (LP200100341) on tightening the phosphorus cycle in grain legumes. She collaborates extensively with academic and industry partners both in Australia and internationally. Jiayin has published 109 ISI-listed journal articles and book chapters, gaining over 4,116 citations and maintaining a h-index of 38 (Scopus). She has presented her research at numerous national and international conferences and serves as a Section Editor for Plant and Soil, as well as for Plant Growth Regulation. Jiayin is regularly invited to review manuscripts for high-impact journals, PhD theses, and grant applications. Over the past five years, she has contributed to undergraduate teaching and successfully supervised many students at varying academic levels. Additionally, Jiayin investigates belowground interactions at the plant-soil-microbe interface to enhance crop resilience and nutrient use efficiency under challenging environmental conditions, significantly contributing to the understanding of phosphorus acquisition strategies in various crop species.
