Dr. Jie Liu

Biography

Jie (Peter) Liu is a Full Professor in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering at Carleton University. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Tianjin, a Master of Science from Lakehead University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo. His expertise encompasses various aspects of mechanical and aerospace engineering, with a focus on machinery and structure condition monitoring, prognostics, health management, and vibration system control. Professor Liu's research interests also include intelligent mechatronic systems, machine learning, instrumentation, and measurement, contributing significantly to the field through various innovative projects and academic publications. He is affiliated with the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, where he actively engages in both teaching and research activities, guiding students and collaborating with industry partners to advance technologies in the field. Liu has published numerous works and continues to contribute to scholarly discussions and advancements in aerospace and mechanical systems.
