Dr. Jie Liu

Biography

Jie (Peter) Liu is a Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Carleton University. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Tianjin, a Master of Science from Lakehead University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo. His research focuses on various aspects of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, including machinery and structure condition monitoring, prognostics and health management, vibration, and system control. He has made significant contributions to the fields of intelligent mechatronic systems and machine learning, utilizing advanced instrumentation and measurement techniques to improve engineering systems. Professor Liu is an expert in developing predictive models that enhance the reliability and functionality of mechanical systems. His work is characterized by a commitment to advancing technology and education in engineering disciplines through both theoretical research and practical applications.
