Biography

Dr Jie Tang is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow with expertise in biomedical engineering and pharmaceutics. His research endeavors focus on both fundamental and applied research in the nano-bio interface and nanomaterial innovation. Dr. Tang's group is dedicated to developing nanoparticle-based platforms tailored for drug and gene delivery, cancer immunotherapy, and vaccine adjuvants, leveraging the unique nanostructure and surface chemistry of nanoparticles. After completing his PhD at the University of Queensland in 2018, he secured research grants totaling AU$ 4 million and established licensing agreements with industry partners such as AstraZeneca. Dr. Tang is now collaborating with fellow researchers to explore the interaction of nanoparticles with biological barriers to optimize their efficacy for therapeutic vaccine applications.
